［Activity Report］2025 1^st English Speaking Salon

 

On May 26th, from 13:00 to 14:30, we held an English Speaking Salon at Higashiyama Campus. MNS doctoral students with strong English communication skills served as discussion partners and managed the session. Participants who wanted to improve their English enjoyed speaking in small groups in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

 

They discussed a variety of topics including their cultures, research interests, university life, and life in Nagoya. A total of 12 students participated in the first session, including 4 discussion partners.

• Satisfaction：Satisfied very much 88％、Satisfied 12％
• Intention to join next time：Would like to join again 100％
• Comments
• I was able to reassess my speaking level, which became a motivation for future learning
• I was able to learn not only English, but also about different cultures.
• I can meet someone from different cultural backgrounds and also different majors. Most importantly, we had the chance to exchange ideas which greatly broaden my view.
• Well organized, small group of people so that everyone got a chance to express.

 

We plan to hold another 5 sessions on 6/30, 10/7, 11/25, 1/27, 2/24 in AY2025.
