(2) Research expenses

250,000 yen – 500,000 yen per year

Tuition Waiver System

60,000 yen per semester deduction was implemented in AY 2024. *Subject to budget approval and allocation, this tuition waiver system is subject to change.

Doctoral Course: Maximum of three years (D1 - D3)
Doctoral Course in Medicine: Maximum of four years (D1 or D2 – D4) *Support period ends at the end of the month in which the regular study period ends. However, the support period may be shortened if any of the payment suspension/stoppage requirements are met.

• Those who will enroll or advance in the Doctoral Course or in the Doctoral Course in Medicine in Nagoya University.
• Those who can devote to activities as a RESEARDENT. They should also not fall under any of the following suspension/disqualification conditions for the program.
  1. ①Students who receive a stable income from their university or company, such as a salary or executive remuneration, at a level sufficient to cover living expenses (approximately 2.4 million yen/year)
  2. ②Students receiving scholarships which stipend amount is 2,4 million yen/year or more
  3. ③International students receiving the MEXT Scholarship
  4. ④International students receiving scholarships from their home country (including the scholarship from CSC)
  5. ⑤Students who have been approved for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science’s Research Fellowship for Young Scientists

NOTE: There are cases where students are not allowed to receive other scholarships while they are supported as a RESEARDENT
