[Activity Report]2025 4th English Speaking Salon

On November 25th, from 10:30 to 12:00, an English Salon was held at the Higashiyama Campus. This time, we utilized the LOUNGE within ComoNe, which opened this summer, marking the first time we held the event in an open space. Occasionally, passersby stopped and looked over, while the students relaxed and concentrated, enjoying their English conversation. This time, 16 students participated. After self-introductions, participants discussed topics unique to doctoral programs, such as approaches to learning foreign languages and how to overcome obstacles when faced with challenges.

In this activity, doctoral students proficient in English who were selected for the MNS Program served as discussion partners. They led conversations in small groups, assisted with member rotations and  supported when students presented their comments.

・I learned about different majors, which broadened my horizons. I still need to continue practicing my spoken English to express my opinions fluently.
・This activity gives me a great opportunity to meet many friends from different fields and improve my spoken English.
These events are scheduled for January 27th and February 24th, 2026. We look forward to meeting many students at future events.
