6月29日、30日の1泊2日の日程で、2026年度 第1回目Boot Campを愛知県豊橋市のロワジールホテル豊橋にて開催しました。名古屋大学・岐阜大学から、本事業の採択学生（RESEARDENT）137名に加え、企画・運営を担った14名の高貢献RESEARDENTと16名の教職員が参加し、盛況のうちに2日間のプログラムを終えました。
Boot Campの目的は、異なる分野の学生が寝食を共にしながら、互いの専門性や研究テーマについて理解を深め、学際的な視点を獲得することにあります。さらに、イベント後も継続的な関係が育まれ、将来的に融合研究・共同研究につながるようなネットワークを構築することを目指しています。
参加した学生は、複数の研究科の学生で構成された4~5名ごとにグループを編成し、合計28グループに分かれ活動し、「各自の専門性を生かした融合研究についてのアイディア創出」というテーマのもと議論を深めました。
今回のBoot Campでは、単に最終的な研究提案をまとめるだけではなく、共同して研究を進めるというプロセスに重点が置かれていました。参加者は、メンバーそれぞれの研究背景を共有した後、異なる専門性・学術的視点から意見を交換し、学際的な対話を行う中で、各自の専門知識をどのように組み合わせることで新たな融合研究に取り組めるか探究しました。さらに、RESEARDENT自身の専門分野の枠を超えた議論を進める中で、コミュニケーション能力やチームワークの向上も図られました。
メンバー同士で、建設的な意見やフィードバックを交わし、繰り返し議論することで、より洗練されたアイディアが創出されていきました。それぞれのグループが、異なる分野の知識を融合することで、革新的な融合研究案を数多く提案し、学際的な課題解決に向けたアプローチの方法を実践することができました。また、本プログラムを通じて、RESEARDENT同士がお互いの研究について積極的に学び、さまざまな研究手法や視点に対しての理解を深める機会ともなりました。
2日目には、各グループが、ディスカッションの成果をまとめ、考案した融合研究提案を発表しました。発表後には、研究提案について質疑応答の時間を設けることで、グループを超えて、異なる研究背景を持つ参加者から新たな視点を得ることができました。さらに、今回のBoot Campでは、発表された研究提案の中から各自が関心を持ったテーマを選び、再度グループを作成し、追加で議論を重ねることで、元の研究アイディアのさらなる発展・具体化を目指しました。一連の過程を経ることで、最初のグループの枠を超えた参加者と新たなつながりを築くことで、新たな融合研究・共同研究への可能性を模索することができました。
さらに、学生主体の取り組みを支えるため、運営には高貢献RESEARDENTが深く関わり、企画の立案やグループディスカッションのファシリテート、研究提案発表の運営と多くの場面でBoot Campの円滑な進行に重要な役割を果たしました。こうした学生主体の環境によって、自由に意見を交換でき、活発な議論が生まれ、プログラム全体によりよい影響を与えたと考えられます。
実施後のアンケートの結果では、Boot Camp全体に対する満足度は76%（「非常に満足」25%、「満足」51%）となり、参加者の多くが本Boot Campを好意的に評価しました。特に、異なる専門性を有する学生との交流機会や、新たな視点、研究アイディアを得られたこと、また、グループ活動を通じて融合研究への可能性を実感できたことを評価する声がありました。

また、本Boot Campのディスカッションテーマであった「各自の専門性を生かした融合研究についてのアイディア創出」についても、68％の参加者が「大変良かった」または「良かった」と答え、本テーマを通して、自身の研究をいつもとは異なる視点から見直す機会になると同時に、異なる分野との融合の重要性を理解し、融合研究の可能性を探ることができたと答えました。
グループに分かれた活動は、参加者の多くが評価する結果となり、参加者の83%（「非常に有意義であった」38%、「有意義であった」45%）が有意義であったと回答しました。これは、グループ内で自由闊達な意見交換ができる雰囲気が作られ、普段は関わりのない研究背景を持つメンバーから多くのことを学べたことに起因すると考えられます。一方で、グループ内での専門性のバランスについて問うと、65%の参加者が満足していると回答しました。様々な研究背景を持つメンバーが集まることで、より幅広い視点で考え、議論が活性化した一方で、限られた時間の中で専門性の大きく異なる知識や考え方を結びつけ、融合研究アイディアを創出することの難しさも明らかとなりました。
融合研究のプレゼン、および、その後のチームを再編成した活動では、当初のチームの枠を超えて新たな人脈を形成する機会となりました。プレゼンを通して、参加者同士で研究アイディアを共有し、各自の興味関心に基づき議論を深めることで、人脈形成だけでなく、新たな融合研究の可能性をより具体的に探ることができました。さらに、19%の参加者が、将来的に共同研究や融合研究を行いたいと思える学生に出会えたと回答しました。多くの参加者にとっては、具体的な共同研究者を見出す段階までは至らなかったものの、将来的に共同研究につながる可能性を持つ人々と出会い、新たな関係を構築する貴重な場を 本Boot Campは提供できたと考えられます。
総じて、本Boot Campは、参加者から非常に高い評価を受け、前年度の成果をより発展させるプログラムとなりました。本プログラムを通じて生まれた学際的な交流や人脈に対して、今後も継続的な交流を促進し、将来的な共同研究・融合研究へと発展していくための重要な基盤になることが期待されます。

The interactions with different researdents at all levels of expertise was great. Sharing ideas, brainstorming together, understanding eachs others research concepts was mindblowing, and intergrating to one common promising research concept was fantastic.
Although we were from totally diverse backgrounds, we were able to successfully collaborate and interact to produce ideas that seemed to cut across everyone's field of study.
Working with researchers from different fields on this project was a very meaningful experience. It broadened my perspective, helped me learn how to approach the same research question from different disciplinary angles, and also allowed me to build friendships.

The Summer 2026 Boot Camp was successfully held over two days and one night, from June 29 to 30, at Loisir Hotel Toyohashi in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. A total of 137 selected RESEARDENT students from Nagoya University and Gifu University participated in the program. In addition, 14 high-contribution RESEARDENT members and 16 faculty and staff provided support for the planning and operations of the event.
The Boot Camp aims to provide students from diverse academic fields with an opportunity to live and engage in discussions together, thereby deepening their understanding of one another’s expertise and research topics while fostering interdisciplinary perspectives. The program also seeks to cultivate lasting relationships beyond the event, ultimately building networks that may lead to future interdisciplinary or collaborative research.
The participating students were divided into 28 small groups, each consisting of four to five members from different graduate schools. Each group worked on a common theme: Idea generation for interdisciplinary research that leverages each individual's expertise.

During this Boot Camp, the focus was on the collaborative process rather than simply creating a final research proposal. Participants shared their research backgrounds and exchanged ideas from different academic perspectives, engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue to explore how their individual expertise could be combined to address interdisciplinary challenges. The program encouraged students to think beyond the boundaries of their own fields while improving their communication and teamwork skills.
As the discussions progressed, each group refined its ideas through continuous dialogue and constructive feedback. Participants developed a variety of innovative research concepts by combining knowledge from different disciplines and demonstrated creative approaches to interdisciplinary problem-solving. Throughout the program, students actively learned from one another and gained a deeper understanding of different research methods and perspectives.
Following the group discussions, each team presented the interdisciplinary research ideas they had developed. Through these presentations, participants shared their approaches and gained new perspectives from students with different academic backgrounds. In addition, during the further discussion and refinement of integrated research ideas, participants joined groups based on their interests and continued to improve research concepts through additional discussions. This process enabled participants to build connections beyond their original groups and explore new possibilities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Boot Camp was also supported by high-contribution RESEARDENT members, who played key roles in planning, facilitating group discussions, and managing the event. Their guidance and support contributed greatly to maintaining a productive and engaging learning environment, enabling participants to communicate openly and collaborate effectively throughout the two-day program.

According to the post-event survey, the Boot Camp received positive evaluations overall, with 76% of participants expressing satisfaction (25% “very satisfied” and 51% “satisfied”). Participants particularly appreciated the opportunities to interact with students from different academic backgrounds, gain new perspectives and research ideas, and experience the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration through group activities.
The discussion theme, “Idea generation for interdisciplinary research that leverages each individual's expert” was also highly evaluated, with 68% of participants considering it “very good” or “good.” Many participants indicated that the theme provided valuable opportunities to reconsider their own research from new perspectives, understand the importance of combining different expertise, and explore the possibilities of interdisciplinary approaches.
Group-based activities were highly valued by participants. Regarding interactions within their groups, 83% of participants found them meaningful (38% “very meaningful” and 45% “meaningful”). Participants appreciated the open atmosphere for exchanging ideas and the opportunity to learn from different research backgrounds. In terms of the balance of expertise within groups, 65% of participants expressed satisfaction, highlighting that diverse academic backgrounds contributed to broader perspectives and stimulated discussions, while also revealing the challenges of integrating highly diverse expertise within a limited time.
The presentation sessions and subsequent reorganization of groups provided additional opportunities for interaction beyond the original teams. By sharing research ideas and joining discussions based on their interests, participants were able to expand their networks and further explore potential interdisciplinary collaborations. Furthermore, regarding future collaboration, 19% of participants reported that they had met students with whom they would like to pursue future collaborative or interdisciplinary research. Although many participants had not yet identified specific collaborators, the Boot Camp provided valuable opportunities to connect with potential future collaborators.
Overall, the Boot Camp received highly positive evaluations from participants and built on the achievements of the previous year. The interdisciplinary exchanges and networks formed through the program may provide a basis for continued interaction and potential collaborative or integrated research in the future.
