Once I enter graduate school, will it be enough for me to concentrate on my research?
To take advantage of your expertise and play an active role in academia, industry, and other spheres, you need deep academic knowledge and outstanding capabilities in your area of specialization. You will also need more general skills (“PhD skills”) such as communication skills and the ability to understand different fields.
To improve your PhD skills in the midst of your busy life at graduate school, it is essential that you identify what kind of skills you need and form a vision for how to improve those skills in your graduate school life going forward.
The seven lectures contained in the “Professional Literacy” course provide opportunities for graduate school students to form a vision for the improvement of their PhD skills. They cover the introductory content of PhD skills that all graduate students should master as a minimum.
The lectures are provided on demand, so you can study them at your own pace when you have time. We hope you take active advantage of these lectures.
