1. Tuition Fee Exemption
This is a tuition waiver system for students who have difficulty paying tuition fee due to financial reasons.

In addition to the tuition waiver for financial reasons, there is a tuition waiver system for students who have enrolled in or have been selected under the following 2, 3, and 4 systems.
2. Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Research Fellowships for Young Scientists (DC1, DC2)
To foster and secure researchers, the system provides opportunities for talented young researchers to dedicate themselves to research.

3. Make New Standards Program for the Next Generation Researchers
Highly motivated and exceptional doctoral students can receive financial support and participate in educational programs to cultivate various skills.

4. Leading Graduate School Program / WISE Program (Doctoral Program for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education)
This is an integrated five-year doctoral course program. Upon acceptance, participants become eligible for enrollment in special programs and receive financial support.

5. Short-term Employment at the Nagoya University
<Teaching Assistant (TA)>
The TA system allows graduate students to accumulate educational experience by supporting lectures or training at the university faculties, and to receive payment for doing so. There are also opportunities to be hired by graduate schools or laboratories after graduating.

<QTA (Qualified Teaching Assistant), GSI (Graduate Student Instructor)>
By completing specific training, individuals recognized as Qualified Teaching Assistants (QTA) can take on one class as instructors, while those recognized as Graduate Student Instructors (GSI) can take on a significant portion of the course as course instructors, and receive higher pay than regular TAs.

<Research Assistant (RA)>
The RA system allows graduate students to accumulate research experience by providing guidance at the research departments to their junior peers, including undergraduate students, or by taking part in joint research carried out by faculty members. They are paid allowances as remuneration. In most cases, applicants are sought when research expenses are available at the research department and the participants must take part in eligible research.

6. JASSO Overseas Study Abroad Support System
Enhancement Program for Research Ability and PhD Skills of Graduate Students through Overseas Training
If you have prepared your own study abroad, internship, independent research, overseas lab experience, postdoctoral training, or similar training plan (limited to partner institutions of Nagoya University), and you pass the specified criteria and screening process, you can receive support for implementing the training as well as a monthly scholarship of 60,000 to 100,000 yen depending on the region.

7. Overseas Study Programs
You can study abroad and carry out field researches at overseas universities. This is offered once students fully understand the system at Nagoya University and then hold a consultation with supervising faculty members. Systems for covering travel expenses and providing scholarships are available.

8. Joint Degree Program
Joint degree programs are offered at the several graduate schools such as Medicine, Bioagricultural, Science, and Engineering. These programs allow and promote to your research for a certain period with counterpart universities and provides financial support.
