現在スペイン語は全世界のおよそ20か国の公用語で、母語話者数５億人を超え、米国内のスペイン語話者も4000万人を超えた。こうした背景を持つスペイン語の国際的需要は決して低くない。マルチリンガル・スキルズI（スペイン語）は、このスペイン語の基礎的な理解力、および運用能力の養成を目的とする。火曜5限の両科目の連繁を緊密にし、同一の教科書を用いて２名の教員が集中的に講義を行う。学習初期の比較的短い期間のうちに、特に基礎文法を中心にスペイン語の全体像をまず学習者に与えることが目的である。
Spanish is an official language in about 20 countries. Around 5 billion people speak Spanish as their native language and the number of native Spanish speakers in the United States exceeded 40 million. From this kind of circumstances, the demand of Spanish language is not necessarily so low. Multilingual Skills I (Spanish) is a course to cultivate students' basic understanding and Spanish language proficiency. Two courses on Tuesday 5th period and Friday 5th period will collaborate closely using the same textbook by two instructors intensively. The purpose is to provide overall image of Spanish language by focusing on basic grammar within a short term in the early learning stage.
