●Title: Mathematics and AI will greatly improve life-saving rates due to disease! (Maybe?)
●Detail:
If you have an acute illness such as cancer and are hospitalized, you will be treated by a doctor. But what if your disease is rare and the doctor has little experience in treating it? In fact, that is what is happening in clinical practice today, and the treatment is almost always based on the doctor's experience and future predictions. Therefore, I am attempting to develop a quantitative future prediction model by analyzing actual clinical data in collaboration with hospitals.
●Speaker:Lu Hongyan(Graduate School of Economics)
●Title: Technology v.s. Older workers
Aging population problem causes the shrinking of effective workers. The innovation of high technology (e.g., information and communication technology, robots, AI etc.) let workers worry about whether they will be replaced by those high technologies one day. This research aims to test the relationship between technology and older workers to find out how we can deal with problems posed by the rapid development of technology in an aging economy.
