●Speaker: Karl Wilkinson(Graduate School of International Development)

Title: Are bad boys really bad?

Detail:

My research examines the experiences of "deviant" male students at a low-achieving high school in Jamaica and tries to theorize their "bad" behavior. Many scholars attribute bad behavior to "choice". However, I explore the influence of the school system and dominant societal values on low-achievers. I argue that bad behavior is not necessarily a choice, but is often inevitable.

Title: Imitation learning based autonomous driving system.

Detail:

I'll introduce an imitation learning based autonomous driving system. This research area aims to construct an automated driving model to control a vehicle by learning from human driving data using a deep learning model. This presentation will describe the basic methodology and our contributions in this area.
