<About the presentation>

Speaker:DANG Yifan
Graduate School of Engineering D3
■Title:
Alchemy in the age of artificial intelligence
■Detail:
In ancient times, alchemy was believed to turn stones into gold or elixir of immortality and was finally proven to be “fake science.”
In this research, we are trying to do a similar thing.My research will turn basic materials like silicon and carbon into silicon carbide.Silicon carbide is a precious crystal having the potential to save the world to some extent. The only difference from
alchemy is that we can use physical laws and artificial intelligence.

■Speaker:FAZAALLOH Al Muizzuddin
Graduate School of International Development D3
■Title:
Determinants of Foreign Direct Investment to Indonesia: New Evidence from Provincial and Sector Data

Foreign direct investment (FDI) has an essential role in improving economic development in developing countries by providing capital and technological transfer.
Our study investigates what factors influence FDI inflows (e.g., Toyota's investment) in Indonesia. The speaker will discuss such factors as market size, labor wage, human capital, and agglomeration economies.
