I will share my experience of over 30 years, starting as a basic Researcher but unexpectedly becoming a founder of biotech companies. Starting as a scientist, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have started my own businesses in Japan and the U.S., and to have seen twice the whole processes of discoveries I saw in the lab being approved and marketed as completely new drugs,. To achieve any kind of success, you need to try things that no one has ever tried before, and you must work hard and keep at it until the end. But there is even more luck than that. I would like to reflect on this process with you and think about how we should live in these uncertain times. I will also share with you some of the ways and visions of incubators that we have launched in the U.S. and Japan in the last 10 years.
