After long time difficulty caused by COVID-19, Indian economy finally showed a sign of the recovery. But, steep rupee depreciation, huge fiscal deficit, higher oil prices and fragmented supply chain followed by aggressive rate hikes likely hamper early recovery of economy. The Indian government has to adopt immediate and effective Economic policies to return to higher growth trajectory as soon as possible. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are facing many challenges toward three straight victories in forthcoming general election in 2024. To begin with, they must survive Gujarat state local assembly election held in December. Of course, India has to establish a good relationship with QUAD ---US, Japan and Australia, and simultaneously deal with difficult neighbors, China and Pakistan. Asa great market, production base and R&D stronghold, Undoubtedly, India is very important country for Japan and others. Let us think about India’s latest situation and future direction together.
