日本のAI開発トップランナーの一角である Preferred Networks では多くの博士人材が活躍して日夜開発が行われている。博士人材の多くは情報系や数学系である一方で、物理や化学を専門とする人材が一定数在籍している。AI スタートアップが物理学を学んだ私達に期待することは何だろうか？それは必ずしも AI 開発能力ではなくやはり物理の専門性である。企業は博士人材に何を期待するのかについて実体験を交えてお話します。
スタートアップ企業での採用の外から見える様子と中から見た実情のギャップについても触れます。

Preferred Networks, one of Japan's top AI developers, has a large number of PhD talents. While most of the PhDs are in informatics and mathematics, there are a certain number of PhDs who specialize in physics and chemistry. What do AI startups expect from those of us who have studied physics? It is not necessarily the ability to develop AI, but also the expertise in physics.I will talk about what companies expect from PhD holders. I will also discuss the gap between what is seen from the outside and what is actually seen from the inside of a startup company's hiring process.
