「MNS Networking Party 〜 博士の門出と未来をつなぐ会 〜 」開催報告

2026 年 3 月 24 日（火）、名古屋大学 Common Nexus (ComoNe) LOAM HALL にて、メイク・ニュー・スタンダード次世代研究事業 （MNS） を修了する博士後期課程学生の門出を祝福する新たなイベント「MNS Networking Party 〜 博士の門出と未来をつなぐ会 〜」が開催されました。MNS 修了生、在校生、MNS の OB、教職員が博士課程での研究やキャリアパスを語り合い、キャリア・研究ネットワークを広げるイベントとなりました。

本イベントは、博士課程教育推進機構の支援のもと、MNS 修了生と在学生の 4 名（中島、松井、鵜飼、山下）から成る企画委員学生によって、企画・運営されました。企画委員学生らは、修了、在学、それぞれの立場の率直な意見を尊重し合い、修了セレモニーという儀式に留めず、「博士課程」という共通点をもとに、修了生も在学生もこれからの活躍につながるような研究・キャリア交流会を企画しました。MNS 修了という締めくくりのイベントではなく、新たな交流を生み出す始まりのイベントにしたいという思いから、MNS 修了生、在校生、学振 DC1・2 採択者など MNS 在籍経験のある人、MNS 事業に関心のある名大生、教職員を参加対象者とし、グループ分けのお題づくりを工夫して、気軽で自由な交流セッションづくりを目指しました。

当日は、MNS 修了生、MNS 在校生、MNS 事業に関心のある学部生から博士後期課程まで国際色豊かな30名以上が参加しました。OB から激励のお言葉をいただき、キャリアや研究生活について活発な議論を行いました。交流セッションでは 10 名ほどのグループに分かれ、研究活動やキャリアパスについて気軽な相談や意見交換をしました。

本イベント終了後、企画委員らによって参加者アンケートを分析した結果、参加者の満足度 5 段階評価では、ほぼすべての参加者が「満足」と回答し、最高ランクの「とても満足」は 65 % でした。参加者からは、「新たな出会いにつながった」「OB との交流ができ有益な進路情報を得られた」「同じ MNS の学生の中でも博士課程の過ごし方や将来のキャリアについて色々な考え方を聞くことができた」という意見が寄せられ、「時間をもっと長くしてほしい」「色々な学年が交流する機会を開催してほしい」という本イベントの来年度以降の継続的な開催を希望する声もありました。

2025 年度、「MNS Networking Party 〜 博士の門出と未来をつなぐ会 〜」を開催することで、企画委員らが目標としていた、未来につながる人と人との交流の場づくりを達成できました。MNS を修了した OB、MNS 在校生、MNS 事業に関心のある名大生が交流の輪を広げ、研究・開発活動がますます発展していくよう、今後も邁進して参ります。

The MNS Networking Party ~ Bridging Doctoral Achievements and Future Endeavors ~, a new event celebrating doctoral graduates from the Make New Standards Program for the Next Generation Researchers (MNS), was held on March 24, 2025, at Common Nexus (ComoNe) LOAM HALL, Nagoya University. It allowed MNS graduates and current students to build connections that support their careers and research activities.

This event was coordinated by the team of four student organizers, comprising MNS graduates and current students (Nakashima, Matsui, Ukai, Yamashita), supported by the Doctoral Education Consortium. This team students valued the candid opinions from both graduate and current student perspectives. They planned a research and career networking session that shared experiences from doctoral studies empower participants for their future success, moving beyond a simple completion ceremony. Their goal was to create a fresh start for participants, fostering new connections rather than simply concluding the MNS program. Therefore, they encouraged participation from MNS graduates, current students, JSPS DC1 and DC2 fellows with MNS experience, as well as Nagoya University students, faculty and staff who were interested in the MNS program. Notably, they made every effort to facilitate a casual and open networking session by organizing participants into groups based on the discussion topics.

On the day of the event, more than 30 participants with diverse international backgrounds attended, including MNS graduates, current MNS students, and students from undergraduate to doctoral levels who are interested in the MNS program. We received encouraging remarks from an alumnus, and participants engaged in lively discussions on their careers and research life. During networking session, participants casually discussed and shared their perspectives on careers and research.

Following the event, the team of student organizers reviewed the outcomes based on participant feedback. Satisfaction levels on a five-point scale were generally high, with 65 % of them rated “very satisfied”, the highest rating. Some feedback from participants includes: “let to new connections”, ”provided valuable career information through interactions with alumni”, ”allowed us to hear diverse perspectives on the doctoral life and future career paths from other MNS students”. Moreover, some participants also expressed a desire for this event to be held continuously in future years, suggesting longer session times and opportunities for interaction across different academic year students.

Based on the above, this event successfully fostered connections among individuals brought together by their doctoral journey and experience of the MNS program, creating lasting networks. We will be working diligently to broaden networks among Nagoya University students interested in the MNS program, −including MNS alumni, current students, undergraduates, doctoral students and others− to promote lively research and development activities.
